Most people have heard the legend of Silverwing, the silver dragon. The young frontier kingdom was on the verge of collapse. Foul creatures spewed from the mountains and northern forests. Their raids and depredations were so vile that entire villages began to evacuate. Then, Silverwing arrived and turned the tide. The dragon patrolled the region and destroyed the raiders as well as other fiends that stalked the lands. After just a few years, the region was safe and Silverwing was no longer needed. The dragon left to find other villains to defeat in far off lands.
The people of the land constructed a shrine on the mountain home of the dragon. A yearly pilgrimage celebrates the victory of Silverwing.
But this year, only days before the annual celebration, Silverwing returned. However, the once benevolent and kind creature was now a marauding fiend. A group of soldiers was sent to the shrine but never returned. Heroes are needed to raid the dragon’s den and stop the carnage.
Savagery of Silverwing is a tournament adventure for use with the Classic D&D game system and compatible with your favorite retro clone such as Dungeon X, Old School Essentials, etc. The scenario is designed for six characters of 5th level. A balance of character classes is suggested but no particular class is required. Particular emphasis on at least three fighter types is recommended. In tournament play, the party consists of six pre-generated characters.
